PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Piccolo Theatre presents Variety Theatre Festival at Evanston’s Custer Fair
Piccolo Theatre presents the Theophilis Lemming Medicine Show, a theatre festival in the true Wild West sense. It takes place at the 40th Annual Custer’s Last Stand Festival of the Arts. Evanston's award winning Custer's Last Stand will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 18 & 19 in the heart of the Main Street Station Shopping District. The Medicine Show begins at 10am and ends at 7pm both days. The Theophilis Lemming Medicine Show has several stages outdoors and inside the Piccolo Theatre. It features theatre, puppets, juggling, clowns, magic and more! The acts include Mickey Simple, Clare T. Clown, MooNiE the Magnificent, Civil War Encampment, The Absinthe Minded Professors, Les Enfants Terrible, The Raven, Starfish Learning Center Clowns, the Traditional Indian Dance Kids Troupe, Kelvin Gordon the Las Vegas Contortionist, Suitcase Shakespeare Company and Belly Dancers from Hip Circle Studio. Throughout the day in the Evanston Arts Depot performance space, Piccolo Theatre will present “Dastardly Doin’s at The Depot,” a melodrama full of funny festivities, damsels in distress and snidely villans! Piccolo’s Artistic Associate, Andrew Roberts, guest stars as Theophilis P. Lemming and oversees the acts and peddles his patented Snake Oil. Last – but not least! – A special appearance by Colonel Custer is sure to please. Custer’s Last Stand and the Piccolo Theatre Theophilis Lemming Medicine Show are FREE! The main entrance to the fair is at the intersection of Chicago Ave. and Main St. in Evanston. Take the CTA or Metra, which stop at Main St., for ease of travel.
